About the Campaign

The Measles Awareness Campaign is a community-centered statewide effort to protect Iowans from the growing threat of a measles outbreak. This campaign unites community organizations and healthcare providers across Iowa to eliminate confusion and misinformation about the spread of measles and increase access to vaccinations.

We believe that everyone deserves care they can understand and rely on. The resurgence of the measles virus paired with declining vaccination rates leaves Iowans more susceptible to a measles outbreak.

This campaign isn’t just about stopping measles. It’s about keeping families safe, building trust, and strengthening our communities from the inside out.

About RIVA and Voices for Health

RIVA has been a provider of accurate, reliable, multilingual support to communities across Iowa since 2015. Our Voices for Health program stands in the gap where public health messages don't always reach, and works hand-in-hand with community leaders to provide culturally relevant support and facilitate access to critical resources.

Our programming is facilitated by Community Health Navigators who serve as a link between their community and needed resources. Our community health navigators play a vital role in supporting our rapid response efforts by guiding community members through complex systems and connecting them with the right resources and information.

The Voices for Health program relies on partnership and collaboration with community organizations, community leaders, and providers in order to promote health, build capacity, and grow community leadership across Iowa.
